Did you know my birthday is on September 5th? Seriously, that's coming up. And I'll be 25. Which is awesome and weird at the same time. The point is, I really have not been expecting any birthday surprises until at LEAST September 1st. But Scott bought me tickets to this:

Surprise! We went yesterday into downtown Salt Lake City to see it. The Capital theatre is so beautiful and I haven't been to a really nice show is so long. Like, 10 years long. And we went to the 2pm performance so there were a bunch of little kids which made the whole thing perfect and magical.

The opening scene, The Circle of Life song, made me bawl. Seriously, I cried like a baby the whole way through. I don't know what it was. Maybe it was being overwhelmed with a traveling Broadway production. Maybe it was the music. Maybe it was the talents. Maybe it was the costumes. But either way, I just sat there and wept. And I looked over and Scott was crying too. Just a little bit. It was just so POWERFUL.

And now, I'm pretty sure I'm going to start a little "Broadway show savings fund" because if I cried like that during the Lion King, who knows what would happen to me during Wicked, Or The Color Purple.

It was the most perfect birthday gift.

Afterwards, we went to an AMAZING sushi restaurant. Seriously, the best sushi I've ever had.

Apparently it's one of the best sushi places in Salt Lake. I liked the atmosphere though, with giant white paper lanterns hanging low from the ceiling.

It's my birthday tradition to go out to sushi every year, but we don't go out to eat on Sundays, and since September 5th is a Sunday this year, I was a little bummed. But this restaurant made up for it.

And that's why I have the best husband in the world.

*The title comes from my friend Rebekah, who would sing that during The Circle of Life. And it really kind of does sound like that...
